Ethics, materialism and higher education: Dilemma between career and social goals

Abstract

This paper tends to assess that how a shifting ethical advance amid ever more money-orientated learned individuals is distressing their approach towards family, career and societal bound. A high prospect for integrated career and social development is a common percept, providing the need to assess other variables affecting integrated career and social development. Ethnicity, academic discipline and gender are observed as a matter of variation towards perspective, incitement and prospects towards ethics, materialism and career and social goals. Social Interaction on consumption or lifestyle is also having a significant impact on the existence of materialistic career goals and integrated career and social development. Social groupings as well as institutional gatherings may work on to devise new ways to inculcate social and academic ethics among its affiliates. Institutional change in bringing values in staff behavior can bring up wonders and a social lifestyle.
